Biography

Casimir Amadikwa Uchegbu, born on 25th March, is a native of Ogbe in Ahiazu-Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. He was admitted into OGSS in 1974 and was in the top 1% of his graduating class. He gained admission into the University of Lagos in 1980 and graduated with a bachelors degree in Mathematics Education in 1984. He received the National Merit Award scholarship in 1981/82 and 1982/83.
Casimir taught Mathematics at the College of Education, Benin during his NYSC program and was hired after the NYSC by College of Education, Minna. In 1988, he went for further studies on Study Leave with Pay at the University of Ibadan where he obtained the Master of Science degree in Mathematics in 1990. He attended many conferences and taught at various institutions in Nigeria before leaving for the USA in 1994 for further studies. He was a pioneer staff in the Department of Mathematics at Imo State University, Owerri.

Casimir pursued further studies at Indiana University, Bloomington; University of Memphis, TN and University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He taught Mathematics at various institutions in the United States including Indiana University, Bloomington; Lane College, Jackson, TN; Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas; University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Lakeview Technology Academy, Pleasant Prairie, WI; University of Wisconsin, Parkside. He was an Advanced Placement Calculus reader. Casimir retired from the academy in 2020 and is currently the President/CEO of a real estate company, CCU Investments, LLC.

Casimir is a member of many philosophical and professional organizations such as American National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Mathematics Association of America and the Rosicrucian Order. He is also involved in several philanthropic and social organizations such as the Friend’s of Africa in Wisconsin. Casimir is the founder and current President of Alaudo Family Association that is running a Health Care Center in his Community in Ogbe. He has also been involved and donated towards many projects at OGSS. Casimir currently serves in the Board of Kenosha Education Association Retired Teacher’s Association and the Whitecaps Property Owner’s Association.

Casimir is married to Chinyere Uchegbu and they have three sons, Nnadozie, Chibuike and Chidubem.
